Tissue of Lies

"You and me. I don't think we're on the same page." - Tim Robbins as Ogilvy in War of the Worlds (2005)

While the corporate media complete their efforts to marginalize any US presidential candidate they don't favor,1 among the many other issues they simply ignore are those pesky 935 lies the Busheviks spoke during the administration's endeavor to cloud the public's easily-clouded mind about the feel-good invasion of Iraq. It barely made a spark before the whole issue was effectively replaced at the national water cooler by the lightning storm over Hillary Clinton's emotional posture.2

Will the economy finally get so bad that the whole US involvement in the Middle East finally makes it back to the front page? On what page will "4,000 American Military Casualties in Iraq" appear? Why can't we get torture off the table and put impeachment back on the table? So many questions. Inquiring minds want to know.

1.  Ron Paul seems to be the only real deal left in the media's contrived horse race, but he's still kept out of the narrow light. Watch him give straight answers to some tough questions during the MTV/MySpace dialogue at Rutgers University yesterday.
2.  Compare Hillary's honest moment of human expression with those of House Minority Leader John Boehner. So who's the real cry baby here? We should be grateful that there was no scream of exuberance involved, especially after what the media did to Howard Dean during the last presidential quest.
